Dr. Samuel Addy to Speak at Bayside Business Solutions' Annual User Conference

DR. SAMUEL ADDY TO SPEAK AT BAYSIDE BUSINESS SOLUTIONS' ANNUAL USER CONFERENCE
Birmingham, AL - Bayside Business Solutions is pleased to announce that Dr. Samuel Addy will be the featured speaker at its 2011 User Conference. Dr. Addy is the Director and Research Economist at the Center for Business and Economic Research as well as the Assistant Dean for Outreach at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration. He will speak on the current volatile economic environment and take questions from the audience regarding the impacts on lending.
According to Dr. J. Michael Hardin, Senior Associate Dean at the business school, “Dr. Addy’s expertise is recognized at the highest levels of state government and he is quickly becoming the state’s preeminent economist.”
Addy has directed and conducted economic impact studies for numerous public and private clients. Other areas of emphasis include fiscal policy; socioeconomic analysis for transportation and other development projects; and environmental and climate change issues. Dr. Addy has published in academic journals and is often quoted in local, regional, national, and international media.
Dr. Addy’s specialty areas include natural resource and environmental economics, applied general equilibrium analysis and modeling (CGE), economic development, economic impact analysis, and project evaluation. He is a native of the West African country of Ghana, where he obtained a B.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology. He holds an M.S. in Mineral Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in Mineral Economics from The Pennsylvania State University.
